What happens if snow gets on my panels or collectors?
If you get any sun at all, the panels melt off very quickly. Since they are generally mounted on an angle, the snow slides off.
What about hail storms?
Nearly all panels whether they are PV or thermal collectors can withstand 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch hailstones. Larger than that can cause damage to the panels and your roof. Then it is time to contact your insurance agent.
